The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration, with the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, reminds us that children must be protected from online abuse and exploitation. Today, many kids use the internet, and this makes them more exposed to danger. This theme encourages everyone to work together to keep children safe, both offline and online
I believe the government is doing important work to protect children’s safety, dignity, and rights. Laws like the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children Act (RA 11930) help catch offenders and stop harmful online content. Agencies like the DSWD, PNP, and DICT also help in rescuing victims and teaching families about safe internet use. I am very grateful that the government continues these efforts because they give children a safer environment to grow and learn.
This celebration also reminds us that protecting children is not only the government’s job. Families, schools, and communities must also guide children and teach them how to stay safe online. I am thankful that more people are becoming aware of these issues. When everyone works together, we can truly defend children’s rights and make sure every child feels safe, respected, and cared for.
